House on Portrait Hill

My Journey

Hi friends, I’m Delia! I’m a first generation Italian-American, with my family’s roots from Rome. My mother was born there and came to the U.S. as a child – yes on a boat – in stereotypical fashion. My grandparents worked hard. My Nonna owned businesses, My Nonno, worked long hours in construction. They worked, and saved. They eventually invested in real estate. In their retirement they traveled the world. They were the epitome of the American dream.

Growing up alongside my Nonna Maria, I absorbed her lessons of cooking, gardening, business ownership, having a passion for travel and fierce love.  She was my role model and biggest supporter.

After high school, I got into Art school and attended college at F.I.T in NYC with a major in (yep!) interior design. I quickly decided though, college was just not for me, so I went on to have a career in the importing industry and sales/marketing for many years.

At 26 I gave birth to my first son Philip. I loved being a mom and having a family.  Sadly, God had other plans. His father passed away shortly after in a motorcycle accident in 2010 when Philip was just 5 months old. I spent the next decade navigating my grief, and being the best single mom I could. It was hard.

One early spring day of 2020, my whole world changed course, when I packed up our life on Long Island NY and moved to South Carolina- right at the start of the pandemic.

Little did I know, I would shortly thereafter meet the sweetest, selfless southern gentleman, who tore down my walls. We relocated again to another part of the state, bought a home, and got married. Not only did I inherit 2 beautiful bonus daughters, Tommy became the most amazing father to Philip that he never had. Tommy and I had our very own baby boy in 2023, making Hines - a perfectly blended party of 6.

Around the same time, I decided to start sharing my life on Tiktok, with decorating projects, DIY, cooking, and mom life. I quickly gained a following, which was a bit of a shock, but validated my dream to create an actual brand around sharing the ideas in my head, and turning them into reality with the world.

Still feeling unfulfilled, I chose again to trust my heart, and make a much needed career change. Fueled by my love for all things home – I went into real estate.

Being able to express my creativeness through outlets of all things home is my passion. Whether through a recipe, planning a party, a home project, modern day homemaking routines, and now helping others buy and sell their dream homes.

I hope you join me on my own journey, but I also hope you find some inspiration here for your own;  to always believe you can do the things you dream of, and it’s ok to start over as many times as you need to.
